APARTMENT 19 is a nomadic project space founded by Yiming Clara that occasions fields of knowledge and practice outside of art to surface in artistic form, through a collaborative mode, and in a site-specific context. Centered around the practice of exhibition making, performance, and publication, APARTMENT 19 leverages the social potential of contemporary art while bringing in people, things, and contexts that don’t necessarily live under its labels. 

The project develops through a changing constellation of collaborations. Currently, the project is based in Berkeley and has collaborations with the Arts Research Center at University of California, Berkeley.
